Über mich
Lithium-ion industry is state-of-art where the improvement comes from experimental trial and error approach, broad outlook and manufacturing experience. All of these are essential to develop competitive Li-ion cells. I am 12+ years in Lithium-based batteries including R&D, scaling-up process development and production. I have been working with development of primary Li batteries, as well as rechargeable Li-ion batteries. Regarding Li-ion, I have been working on cell development according to customer's requirements, development of electrode formulation and processes cells manufacturing. Strong academic and professional credentials allowed me: • to learn deeply the whole development and production cycle of Li-ion cells and batteries: from slurry preparation and electrode's optimization on the 1sq.sm level, to the prototype's level, and the cost-effective technology for commercial cells; • to modify Li-ion technology according to the customer's requirements with minimal expenses.
Werdegang
Berufserfahrung von Artem Faustov
Bis heute 5 Jahre und 4 Monate, seit März 2019
Senior Battery Scientist
Broadbit Batteries Oy
Leading of Li-ion projects: development of electrode's process fabrication, electrolytes and prototyping of Li-ion cells. Achievements: 1. Cell technology for Ni- and Co-free cathode material was developed for 18650 formats with 175Wh/kg and +2500cycling. Technology includes electrodes parameters, fabrication processes (both, for cathode and anode) and own LiPF6-free electrolyte formulation. 2. Different electrolytes were developed, for increase cyclability at elevated temperatures, for LFP, NMC, LCO, LMFP.
1 Jahr und 8 Monate, Juni 2017 - Jan. 2019
Lead development engineer
Keldysh Research Center
Project leading of the development of high-energy Li-ion pouch cells and batteries. Achievements: 1. The developed electrode's preparation and electrolyte composition allowed to reach for 15Ah Li-ion pouch cells 260Wh/kg with 1000+ cycle life. 2. The safety of pouch cells was improved by developing a technology of venting cases.

JSC Center of Perspective Technology and Apparatus
Leading in the development, scaling-up manufacturing of Li-ion and primary Lithium-based cells.Technical support with manufacturing issues.
3 Jahre und 1 Monat, Aug. 2011 - Aug. 2014
Senior engineer
JSC Special Design and Engineering Bureau with Experimental Factory
R&D of membrane electrode assemblies manufacturing (MEA) for hydrogen fuel cells. Achievements: The developed technologies of catalysts inks and MEA-s allowed to 40% reducing the areal loading of precious metal-based catalysts with improving the durability of fuel cells.
2 Jahre und 1 Monat, Aug. 2009 - Aug. 2011
Engineer
JSC Special Design and Engineering Bureau with Experimental Factory
Electrode development for high-power Li-ion cells. Achievements: The developed technology of LFP-based cathode slurry preparation allowed to increase the areal capacity without losing electrode's performance. This led to increasing of capacity Li-ion cells for more than 30% (particularly, for 18650 cells, from 0.85Ah to 1,2Ah) without loss of power capability and cyclability.
2 Jahre und 3 Monate, Juni 2007 - Aug. 2009
Laboratory technician
Lomonosov Moscow State University
Research of physical and electrochemical properties of synthesized carbon-based materials. Achievement: The correlation between the doping of carbon films and their electrochemical properties as anode electrodes for lithium-ion and conductive base for catalysts for hydrogen fuel cells was observed.
