Transformed the IT support capability, prepared for the transition to Azure and Dynamics ERP. Renegotiated terms with telecoms provider whilst adding hardware and service resilience to their global telephony. Negotiated extended leasing agreement with Apple Europe at zero additional cost, arranged equipment and service cost reductions from local network manufacturers, implemented structured training for support staff and rationalised the hardware and software landscape.

Rehired to enhance some systems and processes that I have previously transformed. Planned the managed migration from on-premises to cloud hosted IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions: Implemented Kubernetes virtual containers, disaggregated applications from their operating systems and reorganised the DevOps teams to fully embrace Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as the way of provisioning infrastructure resources in software rather than physically.

The outsourced technical team were not able to provide sufficient assurances of personal data being deleted on request in a verifiable manner. An external consultant was required to lead the programme and define the relevant process changes: Translated technical complexities into plain, accessible terms; aligned ICT with business strategy; ensured organisational readiness for process/technology changes.

• Joined up organisational, programme and service objectives from planning and execution to transformation to business as usual activities. • Audited IT department and inter-institutional processes to determine potential inhibitors to programme delivery. • Made management aware of their need to set the context for planning and execution activities. • Created a ‘programme bible’ to define programme and project roles, responsibilities, escalation paths and processes now and at future states of maturity.

• Definition of the Green Climate Fund new headquarters building ICT programme. • Negotiated infrastructure and contractual separations from the UNFCCC. • Arranged sponsorship and strategic partnerships with Korean technology manufacturers. • Defined the multiparty, platform agnostic video conferencing and the necessity for BYOD principles. • Evaluated SaaS –vs- hybrid –vs- internal data security/privacy implications. • Detailed definition of the conference room audio-visual/translation infrastructure.

• Defined PaperSmart ITS requirements. • Detailed climate change conference technology proposals for the Government of Qatar. • Procured replacement mobile ICT infrastructure for the annual climate change conferences. • Prepared the location and cross-functional scrum team for the SDM-IS programme. • Introduced PRINCE 2 and ITIL processes and documentation. • Evaluated service providers for aspects of the ISO27001 accreditation. • Assisted the ITS Coordinator in leading culture change within ITS.
