Metabolic Engineering of Specialized Metabolite Production My PhD project focuses on expanding the possibilities and the throughput of metabolic engineering experiments in actinomycetes, and on decreasing the design-build-test-learn cycle time for such experiments. This includes expanding the actinomycetes CRISPR toolbox and applying these tools to target strains identified within the IIMENA project. Furthermore, these tools are used for engineering of well-characterized actinomycete production strains.
