As an Electric Machine Designer, I am in charge of developing new electromagnetic actuators and devices for a wide range of applications, such as wind turbine, appliances or O&G drives as well as electric traction. With the support of the Seniors, I am also involved in the conceptual development of new machine topologies, beyond those normally available on the market.

I analyzed a new concept rotary-linear brushless machine that has the merit of being constructed with only parts of off-the-shelf motors and a simple control strategy.

Visiting Scholar at the Electric Machines and Drives Group, evaluating computationally efficient techniques for the calculation of eddy current losses in permanent magnets.

CETECO is a chairlift and platform lift manufacturer. During my internship I evaluated the usefull life of the single-phase induction motors they used, which are subject to cyclic startings and hence experience high thermal stresses, with consequent reduction of the performance of insulation.
