Hemant Chudasama

- Worked on the aerodynamic architecture of Team Bath Drones' 2017 entry, Artemis alongside others within a team of engineering students that became Grand Champions. Specialised in the incorporation of vortex generators over the blended wing body design in order to minimise the risk of tip stall. - Actively participated within a team to iterate a conceptual idea towards a final competition product within budget and time constraints, with appropriate safety and scrutineering considerations.

-At Hydro in Henderson, KY, USA. -Understanding areas of improvement in the casthouse throughout the process flow, performed by working closely with operators and observing data collected. -Learning and implementing lean manufacturing Six Sigma principles and tools. Spreading adoption of Six Sigma culture and communication of feedback throughout all hierarchy levels. -Using bipartisan support for adaptations of process chain to work to leaner production goals and increase profitability.

-Worked in Zeeland, MI, USA. -Analyzing samples and investigating the microstructure issues of aluminum extrusions. This encompassed using equipment such as Scanning Electron Microscopes, Optical Microscopes and hardness testers. -Visited various extrusion plants, consulting on methods to improve process control efficiency and proposing changes to system operation. The aim often focused upon increasing quality, productivity and reliability of presses among facets of the extrusion process.

-University Air Squadrons are associated with the Royal Air Force through the purpose of being training units. Training areas included: Basic Flying Training, Force Development and Adventurous Training. -Beyond flying, training included: attending Adventure Training expeditions within the UK and overseas, learning military drill, undertaking fieldcraft exercises such as 'Strike' exercises run at RAF Cranwell. Other key aspects included air power and leadership skills in pressured situations.
