I have also worked on translations for Porsche, ZF Friedrichshafen, and on many other projects in the marketing, manufacturing, automotive, business and financial industries.

Worked for WACKER Chemie AG on an an 18-month contract as a technical translator on site at its production facility in Burghausen, Germany. Responsible for translating standard operating procedures and training materials for employees at new US plant. Other duties included terminology management, building up the Multiterm database, project management.

Worked with the Director of Marketing; provided market research assistance to ongoing sales and marketing projects, including, researching, writing, and editing articles, bulletins, newsletters, franchising” campaign letters, and website content. Also, researched trade, business, economic, pc magazines for ideas on potential clients as well as kept up to date on new technologies; tracked trade shows and conferences. I performed proofing, format and layout work on the user guides and online help systems for Seagate Software's Crystal Reports Business Objects Management Software. Used Framemaker and Robohelp, early versions of Trados and Deja Vue. Also helped out in the marketing department to acquire new customers. Marketing work involved targeting specific German companies.

I worked as a technical German > English translator for Siemens Power Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I worked on technical specifications, engineering drawings, product descriptions, operating instructions, and more.

Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen produces tap changers for power transformers worldwide. I worked in the Test Department where I was responsible for the administrative and translation needs of our engineers in the department. I translated and edited technical specifications, product descriptions, business correspondence and more. Gave me a good grounding in the translation of technical documents related to power generation.
