I would like to discuss a von Bittenfeld portrait painted in 1902 by an English Artist
called Sir John Lavery. It is a most wonderful portrait of Hans Herwarth von Bittenfeld
in his Prussian Uniform of the Luftschiffahrt Battalion - and has the title of 'Kleiner Leutnant'. We believe that Hans Herwarth von Bittenfeld later became the Defence Attache in Mexico
and in 1950
he was the Vice President of Schleswig-Holstein.
