John Stuart Cappendell

Following my original apprenticeship and subsequent job as an electronics technician in the UK, I moved to Germany in the 1990s, continuing to work as an electronics technician. After taking time out to take care of our daughter, I started as a system administrator at the Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe. I administer or have administered most on-premise central computing components, such as firewall, storage, backup, and virtualization components. In 2008, I became involved in our internal IT-Security project and have served as a technical advisor in cybersecurity matters since that time. I am currently the holder of an ISC² CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional) qualification. I also serve as a SAP Basis administrator and B2A specialist. In my leisure time, I volunteer for a local open-air cinema project and am involved in working groups for IT and communications for my local housing cooperative. I also enjoy walking, camping, and board games.
