Michael Schulman

I've worked in the Education Technology space for over a decade, at Getsmarter (subsequently acquired by 2U/EdX). I've been working as Data engineer for over 7 years, where I've occupied roles ranging from intermediate and senior, through to team and squad manager. I started my journey in more front-of-house, business facing roles (Data/BI analyst/developer) with the aim of uncovering student performance trends and facilitating operational efficiency. As the business expanded rapidly, from start-up to publicly traded multinational, a more robust, scalable and enduring data infrastructure was required to support growing needs - where I've spent the last 6+ years helping to build out the data systems function and infrastructure. While I currently live in South Africa, I have ambitions of moving to and working in Germany. I'm passionate about travelling, anywhere with mountain bike trails, good coffee and internet connectivity will do.
