Provide I/T business continuity to large SAP on IBM Z customers, mainly banks, insurances, government, industries. IBM System Z is the core for the Db2 database and some key SAP services. A heterogenous operating systems landscape gathers around the core with zLinux, AIX, Windows and hosts the SAP frontend. Business continuity through software & hardware redundancy and system management automation. Customer consulting, proof of concepts, validation of selected operating systems in this context round it up.

In that role I was responsable to plan and ensure for the quality of the z/OS operating system component RMF. That includes: Invented, designed and implemented a Software Test and Tracking tool. Represent RMF in the Global Combat Team RMF focal point to IBM Poughkeepsie System Test and Integration Test Responsable for RMF QCERT's (Quality Certification) Responsable for RMF Test resource (Cappex) planing Mentor to several students through their thesis Early customer & partner education

At Conducta I worked in a software project for a new measurement and display device for environmental data. The device would be used in polluted areas like chemical industry or nuclear power plant. The software was underlying extended security rules. I successfully demonstrated the value of Software Design and Development by using professional tools vs. straight programming. Besides this I supported the development department network infrastructure team with configuration and setup.

Very exciting tasks back then at the cutting edge of fuel injection development and validation with a close distance to car motorsports. I worked on climate car and angine stands where the new technology was exposed to temperatures from -30 to +30 degree centigrade and stressed with varios driving load parms. I also had the opportunity once in a while to test drive a car on the road. Lots of data taken from all the measurement devices. Would have been a good use case for Watson, Big Data and IOT.

Realtime computing on a physical experiment The thesis was a physical experiment were I applied realtime computing and software engineering methods to cover the challeges the experiment provided. Parttime I worked as an assistant to the professor.
