Head of Manufacturing Operations at the Valneva Sweden AB Solna site (Stockholm). Accountable for Manufacturing Operations at the Valneva Sweden AB Solna site (Stockholm). This includes Bulk Production (API), Fill and Finish, Packaging, Production Support and Technical Engineering departments for vaccine manufacture from raw material to finished product. Member of the site leadership team.

Lead and manage the bulk production department with 14 process operators/ technicians and engineers, including one team leader. Responsible for the production of the 5 APIs for Dukoral (4 different types of heat or formalin inactivated cholera bacteria strains and 1 recombinant protein) using state of the art and highly automated facilities (cGMP up- and down stream plant including MSL/WSL storage, seed, inoculum, harvest train and protein purification facilities).

Lead and manage a chemical process development section with 33 chemists and engineers, including 4 team managers. Member of the local and global Chemical Science leadership team. Accountable for a portfolio of chemical process development projects in different clinical development phases. Tech transfer to production.

Lead and manage a group of six chemists. Responsible for chemical process development projects in different clinical development phases (as described under 'Chemistry Project Leader').

Build up, lead and establish a X- functonal LSL unit with the objective of a significant lead time reduction for the delivery of GMP quality API (2-5 kg) for phase I clinical trials. Operational end-to-end responsibility for the supply of the assigned projects with API. The team consisted of 2 chemists, 1 engineer, 1 analytical chemist, 2-4 pilot plant process operators and a QA advisor. Successful delivery of API in all 17 assigned projects as well as a 30% reduction in lead time

Leading departmental API development teams with up to five chemists. Planning and coordinating short and long term activities for the development, optimization and scale up of multi-step complex chemical synthesis and transfer from the laboratory to the pilot plant. Involved in the planning and preparation of GMP pilot plant production campaigns; supervision of the production; deviation handling. Authoring of CMC documentation (IND / CTA texts).

Research project: Modified antisense oligoribonucleotides for the inhibition of gene expression through catalytical cleavage of the target strand.
