I lead the newly created Wiley Peer Review Desk, a group of Subject Matter Experts dedicated to providing manuscript handling services, including but not limited to scope assessment, reviewer identification, as well as referral and transfer handling. I work with leaders across the Publishing organisation to understand strategic priorities and decide on the deployment of resources accordingly to support those objectives. In addition, I am involved in devising new services in response to urgent unmet needs.

Responsibilities: - Managing the Editorial and Research Integrity team - Reviewing our current editorial policies, approving updates and creating new policy plans as needed - Agreeing on efficiency improvements to current vendor workflows as well as the overall peer review process - In cooperation with the Operations team and the Head of Editorial Policy and Ethics, implementing new processes and policy changes

I am the Publisher for the Medicine portfolio and manage two Publishing Editors. My responsibilities include setting portfolio-wide targets, special Issue process improvement, development of new editorial policies, managing internal relations to ensure smooth running of processes, implementation of new tools to support editorial processes, setting up partner journals and launches, scientific community engagement and conference attendance to raise visibility of journals and meet with editors.

I am the Editorial Community Manager for Hindawi's medical journals. The primary goal of this role is to establish a close working relationship with members of the academic editorial boards to further develop the journals in the portfolio. This includes the development and management of the editorial board led Special issue program; communication of key journal developments and achievements; highlighting key published research and creating interesting and engaging content.

I am responsible for social media and blog content across F1000 and help to develop and deliver strategy in these areas. I contribute to media work, including identifying opportunities and writing press releases and statements. I support the Communications Director and other colleagues in developing relations with journalists, academics and the science communication community. I work closely with the publishing and marketing teams to ensure best practice in social media activities.

The aim of my project was to investigate mechanisms involved in the development of resistance to Aromatase Inhibitor therapy. Aromatase Inhibitors are currently used to treat estrogen receptor positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. This project was funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and conducted at the Endocrine Oncology Research Group, RCSI, Dublin, Ireland.
