Serhan Koktas

I am responsible for the functioning of three different laboratories, which are X-Ray diffraction, Corrosion, and Heat Treatment laboratories. I have constructed many new setups for different international standards (ASTM, ISO, AS). I am still organizing and performing experimental studies for both academic and industrial purposes. Experimenting and analyzing the materials for the industry’s needs, also preparing reports relating to these analyses are other parts of my duties.

Responsible for inspections in laboratory to be made by customers, accreditation agencies, internal inspectors, etc based on ISO 9001. Documentation of results by writing technical reports. Participate to continuous improvement process and provide Improvement Idea. Applies and develops the laboratory quality system, test and quality procedures. Performing OES analysis, hardness tests and metallographic examinations for quality control management

A quality engineer in a Cast Iron Foundry producing large scale castings, running regular tests according to the customers needs and standards (generally tensile testing, Charpy impact testing, metallographic examination, hardness testing, OES analyses, and some non-destructive testing), and taking preventive actions against casting defects. Also a big part of the work was about documentation of these results, and implementation of never, highly efficient technologies to improve the quality.
