PhD research project in the palm oil sector of Cameroon

Research study carried out on behalf of the Humanitarian Coalition. Assignment included planning and analyzing interviews and focus group discussions with development professionals in the Sahel. Generated a report with recommendations for humanitarian practitioners to be used during the planning and implementation of humanitarian responses to acute phases of chronic food-insecurity crises.

Internship and external consultancy at the institution charged with the implementation of foreign assistance by the German government. Employed by the Sector Unit for “Food Aid and Food Security in the Context of Development-Oriented Emergency and Transitional Aid”, advising the Federal Ministry for Development and Cooperation on strategies and concepts for sustainable food security in emergencies and transitional settings.

Research assistant for the evaluation of a development project in Burkina Faso. In charge of training and supervising twenty local enumerators and carrying out a large-scale survey investigating household cooking practices and issues of energy consumption in 1,470 urban households. Conducted statistical data analysis of the data collected in the research mission for Master’s thesis.

Internship as a Research Assistant at the School of African and Oriental Studies at the University of London. Focus on International Relations, researching the deployment of Private Military Companies in conflict zones and issues of transitional justice.
