During the time as a "Juan de la Cierva" PostDoc I participated in two projects: the T2K experiment in Japan and the NEXT (Neutrino Experiment with a Xenon TPC) project in Spain. The focus was laid on the latter. Participating in the TPC R&D for the near detector of the neutrino oscillation experiment "T2K" (Tokai to Kamiokanda") in Japan: -) construction of the double GEM tower prototype and setting up the required electronics -) data taking in a test beam at CERN with the GEM and a MicroMegas readout, most of the time as person-in-charge -) data analysis (C++) -) gas mixture simulations for the final TPCs -) design of the setup for the characterization and quality control of the final readout modules
