GE requires software that enables their product to schedule the work in the hospital oncology department. My task is to manage the test activities, writing the Master Test Plan, defining the system test environment and cooperation with the development team and test team, both in-house and at GE. Another task is to manage the bugs: creating the bug reports, supporting the development team in resolving the bugs, and verifying the resolved bugs. Also I support the development team using my DICOM knowledge.

As a test coordinator I am responsible for specifying and setting up the test plan and further developing the test framework as set up by me during the proof of concept phase. This includes C# test environment with SpecFlow, SpecSync, nUnit, and Visual Studio, with CI/CD via Azure DevOps (Git) environment, and the product implemented as Docker implementation under CentOS or Ubuntu on VMware or Hyper-V using InterSystems ( IRIS).

For Uplanner our team is to create a medical software application. My job is to write the Master Test Plan and test specifications, support the team - especially concerning healthcare specific matters, and review the deliverables.

Testing Btd-planner...

As test engineer I am responsible for executing system test scripts. This also entails getting familiar with the system and its application, mainly by communication, documentation and exploration. The project is implemented as a multi-site project, with SNC in the US. I also tested the Sun Nuclear DICOM Test Tool, a DICOM test tool developed by ICT, for specific use by SNC for testing their DICOM Query/Retrieve implementation. This involves both GUI and CLI interfaces.

At Philips Healthcare many software tools are used to support the business processes. In conformance with medical standards and regulations these tools must be validated against their intended use. As a Software Tool Validation Officer I am responsible for keeping record of all validated tools within IGT Systems, and assist the departments in getting their tools to validated state.

Sapiens is an emerging medical device company whose mission is to bring a revolutionized concept of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) to more patients who can benefit from this advanced treatment of degenerative or functional brain disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, dystonia and other currently emerging indications. As test engineer I am part of the (Agile) software development team. My main task is to support the team in test related issues, in particular by performing exploratory tests.

In a small team (upto 4) I am responsible for the design, coding, review and (unit and rig) testing of the calibration and performance measurement software. Derived from the EDS design, the software is programmed per test-driven development using C or Python. Lint is used to measure the software quality. Apart from this I also perform reviews on the specification documents. Initially the progress was discussed each day during a scrum meeting.

VanDerLande develops a baggage handling system to double the capacity at Schiphol airport. I am responsible for the High Level Components integration tests of the new baggage handling system. My job is to perform both the test analyses and test. Based on system specifications and test design/plan I have to plan, derive and design test conditions and test cases, using test specification techniques.

DVTk is an Open Source project providing tools for testing the communication protocol of medical applications (DICOM, IHE, HL7). To keep control over the DVTk development requires a test environment that is able to verify and test (new) DVTk code. For this project I was asked to specify (and perform) the tests, using NUnit (no available DVTk product specification). I delivered an initial set of scripts for testing the DVTk HLI.

ASTRO requires a DVTk based test tool for the verification and validation of IHE-RO integration profiles. In February I prepared the ICT offer, assisting in the work brakedown, project time estimation, and the Project Approach document. In April and May I performed the role of technical lead making me responsible for design of the test tool and technical support of the project team. The project uses daily scrum-meetings.

DICOM is the standard specifying the communication protocol between medical modalities. ICT and customers have a need for DICOM training. For this task I have compiled and lead a two-days training. The training is entered as regular ICT course.
