Adam Layne

I'm trained as a mathematician, earning my PhD in the USA in 2018 and completing two postdoctoral positions in Sweden. My research has been focused on mathematical physics; as part of my research I wrote code to perform numerical simulations to aid in my research. As part of this work I managed and analyzed large data resulting from these simulations. I am passionate about solving problems by utilizing techniques, knowledge, and experience from whatever domains are needed to accomplish the goals. I feel uplifted when I bring people together with diverse backgrounds, and facilitate connections across fields. I have extensive experience working collaboratively with people whose work is outside my area of expertise; one of my chief skills is making complicated ideas coherent by understanding the experience and knowledge my audience brings and tailoring my explanations for them. I have many years experience teaching mathematics at the university level.
