Lieron Schalew

When I first joined WiX in 2010, three other developers and I have established the new client R&D team. Our client has since became the company's main product and our 4 developers team has grown into a group of about 40 (and counting). I now lead one of the client group teams.

I founded L.O. Tech together with Or Moran in 2012. The company based its operation on a novel chromatographic industrial separation and purification technology developed in the chemistry lab by my partner Or Moran. During my time with L.O. as Hardware and Software Architect, I designed and developed the first automated prototype. Being a cofounder I also took part in shaping the company's business plan and negotiated business deals and collaboration agreements.

I was one of the first members of the new Client Application team established in 2010 and took part in shaping the face of this Innovative elite team. During the two years I spent at WiX our team released two of the most exciting, new flagship products for the company: the Mobile and Smartphone Web Application and the new HTML Wizard and wysiwyg HTML Web Site Builder. On both products I Designed and Implemented a great deal of the Core Client functionality along with the other awesome members of the team.

I founded the company along with Alone Carmel. Took part in raising it's funds, and negotiating business deals. I researched, supervised and maintained all the technological aspects of the bushiness. Choosing and implementing the appropriate technologies from the infrastructure and server hardware, down to the snazziest GUI features. Supervised local, and overseas, outsource software developers and designed and developed most of the core aspects of the application hands on.

I founded and led LeFay Software Solutions. A small project based software house, that provided ad-hoc software solutions. Software design and development services. As well as consulting services in the above subjects, to various Israeli companies.

I founded i4giveu with Alon Carmel in 2006. An online community where people would post confessions and ask for the community’s judgement. I researched and choose all the relevant technologies and developed most of the software hands-on.

Under the direction of Prof. Miky Ronen at the Instructional Technologies Department. I taught Programming 1, Programming 2 and Web Development courses. Along side the senior lecturers Dan Kohen-Vacs, Nohar Raz-Fogel and Yair Zadok. During that period I also designed and implement extensive parts of the myCeLS e-learning software, together with Dan and Nohar.

I was studying for a bi-disciplinary B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy for one year with good grads. My then newly-established start-up company Devunity.com began to demand more and more of my time. I had to take a hard decision and finally chose the company and my career over higher education.

At ages 15-18, while still on high-school I participated In a special program of the Israeli Open University and the city of Tel-Aviv. I studied Biology for a B.A. and completed two thirds of the needed credits. I then joined the IDF and never finished that degree.
